Meandas

I guess I wasn't supposed to submit this because I don't think it's anything that special....buuut I guess it's a nice to post something that isn't of a human for change So have a darker version of Rudolph, haha. (This time his horns are shining instead of his nose....)

The last picture for my Sami mythology series!

The deer is called Meandaš. He flies across the skies, his eyes burning so that they make you blind, his hooves making such a loud voice that they make you deaf and his breath being so hot that it takes your voice away. His horns are golden and his fur silvery white.
Diermmes (the Sami equivalent of Thor) is always hunting him with his dogs. When he finally reaches him and shoots the first arrow, the fells start shaking and crumbling down and the flow of the rivers will reverse. The rain will stop and and the lakes and seas will dry up. When Diermmes shoots the second arrow and hits the deer between the horns, the mountains erupt and boil and new mountains are born. The ice will melt and the northern lands will burn. And when Diermmes' dogs attack Meandaš and Diermmes thrusts his knife in the deer's heart, the world will end. All the stars fall from the sky and the Moon goes out. The Sun sinks in to the eternal darkness. Huge flakes of ash fill the Earth.

I would had liked to draw a better picture, because man, the story sounds rather epic >_> But you know school deadlines...*sigh*
Perhaps someday I'll continue and paint a nicer picture :0
