Original character dump

I hope this format is not too annoying, I'm just not confident enough to post these separately :/ and I really need to learn to show off some less refined works too!

I'm still learning to draw these characters, but they are the four main characters (the focus being on the guys though) for an upcoming comic project I am still scripting (and I don't know how to stop, hahah). So the core cast is not terribly big, mostly because there will be a loooot of side characters.

The story has two timelines overlapping each other (why do I have to make things so complicated in my first long story??) so it's a bit challening to explain, but maybe I'll figure it out when I finish the script. Mostly you just need to know that all the main characters start out as criminals and then there will be mysteries and secrets and occasional psychotherapy and stuff.

Ellery is pretty much the true protagonist of the story since his voice gets heard the most. He tends to be a bit grouchy most of the time because he automatically expects people to misunderstand him since he sometimes has difficulties expressing himself clearly. This also makes him really straightforward and honest which might make him seem a bit rude (often it’s intentional too). On the inside though, he’s a good person. He’s also obsessed with making lists and schedules but otherwise his life is a mess. He works as an archivist (even crime organizations need boring jobs, how else do they stay organized?). Also, even if he's not very good with words, he's very good with expressions, and he definitely talks a lot with his eyebrows.

Wren is pretty meek, quiet, and has hard time standing up to herself. This makes people dismiss her a lot. However, she’s very loyal, kind and accepting. She’s someone you can trust. She’s the tallest character, plus she loves to use high heels. Her style is always super classy and feminine. She's Tjin's secretary but they are also best friends, and they've been working together for years.

Velia is very confident, sometimes a bit short temper with people, but with her work however she has the nerves of steel. Prefers to work alone, and hates it when other people try to tell her what to do. Sarcastic, swears a lot. Loves to tease others. Her style is usually very practical, and prefer pants to skirts. Biker jackets, lots of black. She's a bit of a rookie to the whole crime business thing but she boldly takes all the dangerous tasks.

Tjin He's one of the oldest original characters I have, and only now have I finally truly finished his design. I guess he kind of grew as I did, because my preferences have changed a lot through the years. He was supposed to look a lot younger before, but it wasn't really appealing to me anymore...so now he looks maybe like a creepy car salesman with that perpetual smile, heavy lids and raised eyebrows. I also tried to mix in some occasional cute. He is a trained psychologist but works as an interrogator (though later returns to his old profession). He always seems to be in a good mood, though he will just keep smiling even when he is not. Very friendly and sociable, but needs some occasional time alone, and different games and crafts (puzzles, mind games, building toys, origami etc) are his preferred methods for relaxing. He is also constantly hiding something and has no problem telling lies, especially about himself. His clothes always have very good cuts &high quality, but there might be some little details that tell about his playful nature that is hidden behind his professional demeanor.
